HELLO
Hello, my name is Avery and I have ADHD.  I created a non-profit organization called Avery's Smile Co. to raise ADHD awareness.  I made this website when I was nine years old.  Now, I'm eleven.  I am raising money for ADHD by selling silicon bracelets and keychains (page 2).

I want to help children, like me, who have ADHD.  I donate 100% of the profits to CHADD (for support and awareness), schools, ADHD camps and research.  I would also like to find resources for kids who don't have enough money for their medications.

I would like to tell people three things about ADHD:
1) ADHD is  not bad.  I am a good kid.
2) ADHD is great because it  makes me smarter.
3) It makes me sad when people don't understand my ADHD.

In September 2007, I was the "guest speaker" at ADHD Alive in McHenry, IL.

In November 7th, 2007 the famous Dr. Russell Barkley came to Appleton to talk about ADHD.  I gave a speech before him in front of 700 people!  I was not nervous at all.  Dr. Barkley shook my hand and said nice things about me.  He even took a picture with me.

In April 2008, I had a gigantic rummage sale.  I sold over $1000 worth of items.  And I was interviewed on the radio.  Here is two sound bytes:

In April, I was told I was a finalist in the Build-A-Bear Huggable Heroes Contest.  Although I did not win, I am very pleased and surprised to be one of 31 children who was listed on their website.  Kids were chosen from all over the world!

In February 2009, I spoke on the panel at CHADD in Appleton, WI.  I told parents about what it was like to have ADHD.

On March 5th, 2009, I spoke at the Narenwich conference.  This conference was for at-risk teachers from all over the state of Wisconsin.  I told them what it was like to have ADHD.  Joan Helbing, President of our CHADD chapter, talked with me.  She told them what works and doesn't work with ADHD students.

My goals are to go to Harvard University and to meet the President of the United States to tell him about ADHD.  I'm also thinking about building another website for kids only.

Please email me with any questions or comments.  I would love to hear from you.  (Don't forget to look at all my pages on this website.  I have five of them.)
My email address is smileco@new.rr.com
